The history of the project - from stable building to ecology

The ecology is located at the "Hütttergütl" of the Stöckl family which was first mentioned in documents in the 15th century. The original, centuries-old stable building was demolished by the great-grandfather in 1973 and rebuilt on the same site. The barn was used for agricultural purposes until 1994, since then it has served as a storage room or shelter for agricultural machinery.

The creation of a livelihood in Grundlsee and the heartfelt desire to revive the Hüttergüttl have been a topic in the family for a long time. Finally, in autumn 2016, the rezoning to building land in the general residential area of the development zone was approved. Construction will start in 2017. The first two years only in winter, as we still run our mountain hut - the Gotzenalm in the Berchtesgaden National Park - full time in summer. From 2019, we will be able to devote ourselves to our big project all year round. From drawing the plans to execution - in most trades, much is mastered by ourselves. We are growing with the task, the joy of creating and building camp fever are sometimes close together. In 2022 we will be ready to welcome guests for the first time, and in 2023 the project will be completed.

We are happy to be your hosts

When building and furnishing in Ausseerland, we have found a lot of expertise, cordiality and fine intuition at:

THE PERFECT LOCATION

Approx. 1.3 km from Grundlsee, the new Ecologie is situated in a sunny location all year round in the district of
Mosern on the connecting road between Grundlsee and Altaussee.
The mountain panorama stretches from the Tote Gebirge in the east over Rötelstein, Kamm, Zinken and the Dachstein massif to Hoher Sarstein in the west.

The centre of Grundlsee with local shops and several guesthouses is 2 km away, the next bus stop is about 15 minutes on foot.
The Loser skiing area can be reached comfortably by car in 15 minutes, the Tauplitzalm in 25 minutes.
Narzissenbad, Grimmingtherme and the Kaisertherme in Bad Ischl can be reached in less than half an hour.
130 km of snow-sure cross-country skiing trails in the Bad Mitterndorf area and the scenic Blaa-Alm and Gößler Wiesen trails are in the immediate vicinity.
The location is suitable as a stage destination for the popular Dachstein Cycle Tour, which runs through the Ausseerland region and lasts several days.
The house is also conveniently located as a starting or ending point for hikes on the Violet Route of the Via Alpina long-distance hiking trail (direct access approx. 4-5 hike to the next refuge).
